In February 2020, Melissa committed her robust strategic communications experience in agency, corporate, and nonprofit settings to create Mash Strategies. Prior to starting Mash Strategies, Melissa has consistently positioned brands for success and growth by boosting awareness, increasing engagement, and providing award winning solutions. Her professional experiences include creating and launching an online presence for Health Partners Plans, a not for profit health management organization serving Pennsylvanians, then going on to lead their member communications efforts as communications supervisor, and ultimately led all branding efforts for the organization as the marketing and advertising manager. Her leadership, strategies and award-winning campaigns consistently positioned the organization as a locally grown, nationally recognized leader in health and wellness. In 2019, Melissa served as the communications director for Please Touch Museum, a national leader in children’s museums. In this executive role, Melissa successfully helped develop the museum’s three-year strategic plan, led marketing initiatives, and launched new membership and pricing programs.

Melissa received her Master’s degree in communications from Villanova University. During her graduate studies, she was recognized by Howard University for her scholarly research on social media and smartphone use among minority groups. She received her Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She also holds a certificate in leadership and management from The Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania.
